Police say they were innocent and not the gunman’s intended target.

“It’s unthinkable that a mother and her 15-month-old would be shot in Minneapolis while simply walking down the street,” Hodges said. “I am outraged that this took place in our city and in our community. We as a community must continue to vehemently reject this kind of violence and channel our outrage into preventing the factors that lead us down this path. Right now the police department is doing everything possible to apprehend the shooter.”
