Twins Encourage Fans To Send Brian Dozier To All-Star Game

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There's only one more chance to get Minnesota Twins' second baseman Brian Dozier to the All-Star Game.

He didn't make the starting or reserve rosters, so his teammates are stepping up, on of all things a bulldozer. The team brought it in to encourage fans to vote for Dozier one final time.

"No Bull, Vote Dozier" has become the team's anthem for the next few days. Mike Max shows us how valuable a player he is to the entire team.

Monday night's walk off home run proves that Brian Dozier still has what it takes to make it to the All-Star team.

"He's just a good guy. Fans love him and he loves the fans," Twins Senior Director of Corporate Communications Kevin Smith said.

Two rosters were announced with Dozier's name not on the list, but now the Twins are going to great lengths to get his name on the final roster.

"We're trying to get it out there in as many ways as we can to help fans engage in this the process and have them get Brian in the All-Star game," Smith said.

A bulldozer now sits outside the front entrance to encourage fans to vote Dozier. Pins will be passed out at Tuesday night's game against the Orioles, and players are wearing T-shirts in support of their teammate.

"To us, what he means to our team, he's incredible. We wouldn't be where we are without him," May said.

May says Dozier deserves it because he's been a major part of the Twins' success.

"We have all the faith in the world for him as you saw last night, when big spots are coming up, he's our guy. He's proved why he's that guy for us," May said.

"We think a guy like him would be an excellent representative for the Twins in the All-Star game," Smith said.
