MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota’s full congressional delegation has written a letter to get Twins great Harmon Killebrew immortalized on a postage stamp.

The late Killebrew’s wife and the Minnesota Twins are asking for fans to send in letters of support.

Minnesota’s Congressional delegation sent a joint letter to the U.S. Postal Service saying Killebrew’s legacy on and off the field exemplifies the best of Minnesota and our nation.

“We are proud of such an exemplary role model for current and future generations, and see this stamp as an important way of preserving the legacy of Harmon Killebrew,” the letter read.

The Postal Service won’t say who else is up for the honor.

Killebrew died in 2011 at the age of 74.
