MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials say a University of Minnesota student was threatened and robbed of her purse early Tuesday morning near campus.

University officials say Minneapolis police were called around 1:30 a.m. to the intersection of University and 9th avenues southeast.

The victim told police that she and a friend were walking east on University when two people approached them.

One of the people grabbed the student’s purse from around her neck and threatened her.

The victim gave the suspects her purse, and the suspects fled.

Officials say the victim was not injured in the incident and that detailed descriptions of the suspects are not available at this time.
