Twins' Hicks Lands On DL, Byron Buxton Recalled

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Twins star prospect Byron Buxton is rejoining the big league squad for its four-game series in Baltimore this weekend.

Twins officials made it official after Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Yankees, the last of a three-game sweep. Center fielder Aaron Hicks strained a hamstring in the game and had to be placed on the 15-day disabled list as a result.

Calling up Buxton from Class AAA Rochester was the corresponding move. Buxton had been playing in Rochester since being activated from the disabled list after suffering a sprained wrist trying to steal a base. In 13 games with the Red Wings, he got at least one hit in every game, batting .400 with three doubles, one homer, eight RBI and 11 runs scored.

It's likely that Buxton will be in the lineup Thursday night in Baltimore against the Orioles along with Eddie Rosario and Miguel Sano.
