Farmington Gas Leak Causes Evacuation Of Nearby Buildings

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A gas leak in Dakota County forced evacuations at nearby homes and businesses.

A construction mishap around 10:30 a.m. Monday led to a leak in a 4-inch pipe at a project in Farmington, near 195th Street and Pilot Knob Road.

People from six businesses, including a daycare facility, and a number of private homes were evacuated to the Farmington Fire Department across the street.

The gas line was repaired and people were allowed to return to their buildings by 11:30 a.m.
