Sheriff: Bicyclist Dies After Being Hit By SUV In Stearns Co.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Stearns County say a 51-year-old bicyclist died Tuesday after being hit by a SUV.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the collision happened around 6:20 p.m. near St. Wendel Township, which is about 15 miles northwest of St. Cloud.
John Girard Seiler, 51, of Sartell, was riding on the shoulder of a road when an SUV struck him from behind, officials said.
The impact threw Seiler into a ditch, where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses said the SUV, driven by 73-year-old Judy Ranson Post of Pasadena, Calif., drifted onto the shoulder before striking Seiler.
The State Patrol is reconstructing the collision, which remains under investigation.
