Flash Flood Warnings In Twin Cities After Heavy Rains

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Flash flood warnings were issued and at least one major thoroughfare was underwater Thursday morning after a number of rounds of heavy rain moved through the Twin Cities metro area.

The National Weather Service said that DakotaRamsey and Washington counties would be under a flash flood warning until 9 a.m.

Minnesota Department of Transportation cameras showed a portion of Interstate 35E under water at Maryland Avenue in St. Paul.

WCCO meteorologist Matt Brickman said that storms brought heavy rain and a large amount of lightning.

Brickman said the rain should continue off and on again Thursday morning and then the Twin Cities should get a break before they start up again later on into the afternoon and evening as a cold front moves its way into the area.
