1 Dead In South Minneapolis Shooting; Suspect On The Loose

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A woman is dead and a suspect is on the loose after a shooting in south Minneapolis Tuesday evening.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, shortly before 7 p.m. a woman was shot near the bus shelter at Park Avenue and Lake Street East. When police arrived, the victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition Tuesday evening. Early Wednesday morning, Minneapolis police confirmed the woman died. Police have not released her identity.

After a preliminary investigation, detectives say a dispute occurred between the victim and another person, it escalated and the other person shot the victim. The suspect then fled the scene and has not been located at this time.
