Driver Killed In Chatfield Head-On Crash Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The driver killed in an Olmsted County head-on crash has been identified.

According to the state patrol, witnesses reported that a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Hwy 52 north of Chatfield, Minnesota, when it crossed the center line several times before colliding with a southbound GMC Acadia.

A Toyota Camry traveling northbound swerved to avoid the vehicles, entered a ditch and rolled.

The state patrol says the driver of the Honda is 24-year-old Casey Beach of Byron.

The driver of the Toyota has been identified as 29-year-old Thomas Collins of St. Louis Park. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the GMC, identified as 33-year-old Nicholas Farley of Woodbury, suffered no apparent injuries. There were two other passengers and one suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda has not been identified. It's not known whether he or she was the deceased victim.

The state patrol says weather or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
