According to Box Office Mojo’s list of ticket sales, “Gone With The Wind” takes the number-one spot in the United States with 202 million tickets sold.
Second is “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope” with 178 million tickets sold in the U.S., followed by “The Sound of Music” (142 million) and “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” (141 million).
