Ex-Viking Fred Smoot Pulls No Punches In Reddit AMA
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- When Fred Smoot says "ask me anything," he means it, and assumes you're ready for the answers.
First and foremost, Smoot kicked off his recent Reddit chat by saying that he was too through with chatter about the Vikings' "sex boat scandal," adding "that s*** was like 10 years ago and it wasn't even that cool. Stay off of boats kids."
Smoot was charged with a misdemeanor after, according to the criminal complaint, he and a number of other Vikings players were involved in a ribald evening aboard a rented boat on Lake Minnetonka. Smoot was fined following the incident, for which he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and being a public nuisance.
Prior to this week's Reddit conversation, Smoot quipped, "There's only two people famous for Lake Minnetonka -- me and Prince. It should stay that way."
Throughout the AMA event, Smoot pulled absolutely zero punches in his responses to Reddit users' questions, with more than a couple declaring his chat "GOAT." A few samples:
