Autopsy Of Northfield Woman Found Dead In January Released

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (WCCO) – Northfield Police have released the autopsy results of Tiffany Smith, a 31-year-old Northfield woman who went missing on New Year's Day and whose body was found days later.

A friend reported Smith missing on Jan. 1. Police found her deceased on the 400 block of East 3rd Street on Jan. 3.

The cause of death is listed as heroin toxicity, and the autopsy noted the "contributing role of hypothermia could not be excluded." The exact manner of Smith's death is still undetermined.

The incident is still under investigation.
