MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — More than 54,000 Minnesotans work in the state’s clean energy sector, and industry analysts say that number is expected to grow.

A report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says Minnesota’s clean energy workforce will grow by more than 4 percent, adding more than 2,300 jobs.

The report says most of those workers are concentrating on energy efficiency.

The metro area is home to the largest group of energy workers in Minnesota, with more than 38,000 jobs.

Industry experts say that Minnesota’s role in clean energy benefits our health and the economy.
