After Sunday Storms, Wet Week Ahead

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Storms will roll across parts of Minnesota Sunday night, and you'll want to keep your umbrella handy as we head back to work and school on Monday.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Rice, Steele and Waseca Counties until 8:45 p.m. A tornado had been spotted just south of Owatonna.

Parts of southwestern Minnesota were at risk for strong storms coming up from Iowa Sunday night. WCCO Meteorologist Molly Rosenblatt said we should expect those storms and showers to continue in the Twin Cities metro overnight into Monday morning.

More showers and storms are also expected across Minnesota throughout the day Monday, but temperatures will be much cooler with highs expected in the low 50s. It's just the start of what's expected to be a wet week.

While we should expect partly sunny skies on Tuesday, more rain is expected Wednesday and Thursday before we finally start to dry out on Friday.
