MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's wedding and graduation season, Father's Day is coming up, and we're looking at more outdoor activities to enjoy the warm weather months. And retailers are taking note with deals in June that keep these things in mind.

HOME IMPROVEMENT GOODS
With Father's Day coming up on June 19, there will be a lot of specials geared toward gifts for dad. Home improvement items are especially marked down this time of the year. So if you're looking for a gift or planning on a DIY project, look for deals on everything from tools to paints at your local hardware store and big box retailers.
GYM MEMBERSHIP & FITNESS EQUIPMENT
With these warm weather days ahead, we all want to be outside more. And that includes outdoors activities. As a result, gyms and fitness centers see attendance drop this time of the year. So as an incentive to get people through the door, gyms tend to offer discounts on memberships and other specials this time of the year. In addition to gym deals, June is also a great time to look for deep discounts on workout equipment as retailers get ready to get rid of old stock and bring in the new. So now is also a great time to buy those yoga accessories or elliptical equipment.
PARTY SUPPLIES
Graduation and wedding season, Father's Day, barbecues -- there is a lot of partying happening this time of the year. Retailers know that and, as a result, they're offering deals on party supplies to help you throw your soiree. Deals are especially great starting mid-month as clearance sales get underway.

Wedding season is upon us. And items like dish and tableware are common item on registries. Retailers want you to shop with them, so they're offering as much as 25 to 50 percent off on items. So in addition to checking off that item on a wedding gift registry, why not stock up tableware accessories for yourself? Items like dishes also makes for great graduation gifts.
FREE DONUTS
June 3 is National Doughnut Day, which honors the Salvation Army volunteers who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. Every year, doughnut shops and supermarkets across the country mark the occasion with specials including free doughnuts to customers. Check in with your favorite local bakery to see if they're participating in National Doughnut Day. Mojo Monkey in St. Paul is giving away one lemon old fashioned donut to the first 200 people in the door. Another donut deal comes from Dorothy Ann Bakery in Woodbury. If you pre-order a box of specialty donuts, you will get a gift certificate for later use. There will also be free samplings.
