1 Injured In Motorcycle Accident In Carlton Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was injured in a motorcycle accident in Carlton County Friday morning.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, just before 11 a.m. deputies received a call of a motorcycle accident at the intersection of County Road 10 and Sand Lake Road in Moose Lake Township.

Upon arrival, officers learned 24-year-old Matthew David Carlson, of Sturgeon Lake, had been traveling southbound on County Road 10 when the 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was on left the road.

Carlson was taken to Mercy Hospital and later airlifted to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth He was in critical condition at the time of the crash. His current condition is unknown.

Police believe that speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Carlson was not wearing a helmet.

This accident is currently under investigation.
