MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 9-year-old boy is in the hospital tonight after nearly drowning at a home in Shorewood, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were called to the 26000 block of Peach Circle after a medical emergency was reported at 3:15 Sunday afternoon. They say a pool party had taken place at a home.

The 9-year-old boy had to be airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis after nearly drowning, authorities said. His condition is unknown at this time.

Both the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Shorewood Police are investigating this incident.
