Protests Take Destructive Turn At Governor's Mansion
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Following the fatal officer-involved shooting of Philando Castile in Falcon Heights Wednesday evening, protesters marched from Castile's workplace at an elementary school to the Governor's Mansion in St. Paul.
Hundreds stayed there into the early morning hours.

Overnight, there was some violence between protesters and police around the Governor's Mansion.
According to the St. Paul Police Department, the demonstration was peaceful overall but a few people broke away from the Summit Avenue crowd and made their way onto Grand Avenue.
A post on the St. Paul Police Department's Facebook page said the group "broke windows on an unoccupied police vehicle and damaged a window of a Grand Avenue business."
Police said officers used a chemical irritant and marking rounds to stop any further damage.
One person was arrested. There has been no word of any charges.
People continue to gather in front of the residence.
