Twins Place Milone On DL, Recall Pat Dean
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A day after lasting just two innings in a 10-2 loss to the Astros, Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Tommy Milone is heading to the 15-day disabled list.
Milone was diagnosed with left biceps tendonitis. He had appeared in 15 games with 12 starts and was 3-4 with a 5.68 earned run average. He also had 43 strikeouts and 19 walks.
To replace him on the 25-man roster, the Twins recalled pitcher Pat Dean from Class AAA Rochester. He is 5-7 on the season with a 5.56 earned run average in more than 87 innings pitched for the Red Wings.
Dean has made eight appearances with the Twins, including six starts, and is 1-3 with a 5.54 ERA and has 28 strikeouts and 15 walks at the Major League level.
