10-Year-Old Bicyclist Hit By Car And Killed In Waseca

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police in Waseca say a 10-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car while he was riding his bike Wednesday evening.

According to a Facebook post from the Waseca Police Department, it happened at around 5:30 p.m. on the 700 block of 4th St. SW. The bicyclist, Maohamed Faqay Mungani, was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the 80-year-old woman who was driving the car that hit the child was headed north when Mungani entered the lane of traffic as he biked around a parked car. The woman said she never saw the child until she hit him.
