Willmar Police: Heavy TV Set Kills Boy

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Willmar police say a 6-year-old boy died Thursday night after being hit in the head by a falling TV set.

The fatal accident happened on the 800 block of 4th St. SE at about 7 p.m.

Police say the older TV that fell on Julian Demarce weighed about 200 pounds. He was rushed to Rice Hospital, were he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators do not believe foul play or neglect was a factor in this tragedy.
