Bobby Vee Tribute Performed At History Theatre In St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- A production in St. Paul is honoring the late 1960s pop musician Bobby Vee.

Vee died of complications from Alzheimers early this week. He was 73.

A play titled "Teen Idol: The Bobby Vee Story" was performed at the History Theatre in St. Paul Thursday night, and those involved spoke at a press conference Friday afternoon. World-renowned lyricist and songwriter Sir Tim Rice flew in from London to see it. Rice was a good friend of Vee's and was planning to see the play before he died.

Vee's funeral will be held at St. John's Abbey in Collegeville next Wednesday at noon. Visitation is set for next Tuesday.
