Warm Temperatures On Pace To Smash Decades-Old Records

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On the eve of a #Top10WxDay, the Twin Cities are on track to set records this month with our warm November weather. The average high for this time of the year is 49 degrees. We typically see our first snowfall this week. Instead, we're in the 60s.

On a sunny day there is nothing better than indulging in a sweet treat.

"I just felt like it I passed a dairy queen and seemed like a good idea," Chris Shaffer said.

Ice cream, short sleeves and sandals all seem out of place in Minnesota in November.

"Which is really nice. Kind of unexpected," University of Minnesota student Carly Duerst said.

"It feels like early October," Cathy Bloomfield said.

The mother and daughter decided to take in the rushing Minnehaha Falls.

"It's absolutely fantastic I just don't remember many Novembers like this it's just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful," Shirley Bloomfield said.

Over at Able Seedhouse and Brewery, the garage doors were up and patrons were outside.

"This is excellent, this is the best possible scenario," Brian Polson said.

He has his buddies in town for his wedding, a date he and his bride set last year.

"I assumed it was going to be kind of cloudy and cool and windy and it's about the opposite of that," Polson said.

Outdoor activities at Betty Dangers Country Club are somewhat seasonal, but not this November -- and it boosts business.

"This is great because the temps are warmer people are out here enjoying the wheel, mini golf, things they probably wouldn't be able to enjoy if it were a regular November if there were snow," marketing director Susan Martin said.
