Tap Talk: Tin Whiskers Releases Second Beer In Phase Shift Series

It's that time of year again – the holidays are just around the corner.

From dinner parties to ugly sweater celebrations, we're often floating from house to house bringing a dish or a drink with us.

For those who may prefer a brew over a Bordeaux, Tin Whiskers is releasing a new beer just in time for Thanksgiving.

On Saturday, the St. Paul brewery is releasing its second beer in the Phase Shift series: Phase Shift 02: Isanti Spirits Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Shifter Porter.

For this beer, Tin Whiskery and Isanti Spirits paired up to offer a unique twist to the Shifter Porter. The porter was aged in rye whiskey barrels that Isanti Spirits provided.

"Much thought and time went into the partnership selection with Isanti Spirits on our Phase Shift barrel program," Head Brewer, Derek Brown, said. "Rick Schneider, the founder of Isanti Spirits invited me to participate in a brew session. I felt like a wide eyed rookie again afraid of spilling an ounce of grain or interrupting the he boss as he muttered to himself. It was great. The barrels offer fantastic flavors for our beers."

Beginning at noon on Saturday, Tin Whiskers will have the Phase Shift: 02 available in 750 ml bottles. It will also be on tap for a limited time. The celebratory release will also include a number of experimental beers throughout the day.
