Unlicensed North St. Paul Day Care Provider Charged In Child's Death
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A day care provider is facing second-degree murder charges after admitting to police she didn't have a license when a baby died under her care.
Last August, Amy Jo Englebretson called police when she discovered a 6 month old was no longer breathing.
She had put the little girl in a carseat for a nap.
According to the criminal complaint, Engelbretson didn't put the straps on tight enough and the baby slid down, strangling herself.
Officers say Engelbretson was watching nine other kids under the age of six in her North St. Paul home.
