1 Killed After Semi Broadsides Car In Rice County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One man was killed after a car and semi-truck collided on Highway 99 in Rice County Thursday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Pontiac, driven by a 60-year-old Faribault man, was traveling southbound on Highway 21.

The Pontiac was turning eastbound onto Highway 99 when it collided with a semi that was traveling westbound on Highway 99. The semi was drive by a 37-year-old Springfield man.

The 60-year-old man was killed. The 37-year-old man suffered no apparent injury.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
