MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office says a Brown County man died Thursday from injuries he suffered in a fire more than a week earlier.

The sheriff's office says Richard Emil Martinka, 73, was burning leaves and debris near his home in Sleepy Eye on April 11 when his wheelchair tipped over.

Martinka fell into the fire and suffered serious burns.

The medical examiner and the Brown County Sheriff's office are still investigating.
