MLB Suspends Twins Minor Leaguer For Drug Program Violation

NEW YORK (AP) — Third baseman Sean Miller of the Minnesota Twins and first baseman Montrell Marshall of the Cincinnati Reds have been suspended for violating baseball's minor league drug program.

Both players received 50-game suspensions without pay following a second positive test for a banned substance.

Marshall is on the roster of the Single-A Dayton Dragons of the Midwest League and Miller plays for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League.

The penalties were announced Saturday by the commissioner's office, which did not elaborate on the substances involved.

There have been 48 players suspended this year under the minor league drug program and nine suspended under the big league drug program.
