METRO Green Line Train Collides With Car In St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The METRO Green Line was delayed in St. Paul Tuesday afternoon after a car was struck by a train.

Metro Transit officials believe a driver made an illegal turn onto the tracks near the Lexington Parkway Station at about 4:20 p.m., and was struck by the light rail.

The driver was taken to a local hospital after complaining of minor shoulder pain. No one else was hurt in the crash.

Train service was delayed for about 20 minutes.
