Fatal Crash Closes Highway 8 In Lindstrom Friday Afternoon

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people have died following a crash in Lindstrom Friday.

According to State Patrol, the crash happened at Highway 8 at Lincoln Road around 2 p.m.

A Saturn Ion was traveling eastbound on Highway 8, when it crossed into westbound traffic, and then back to eastbound traffic. When it crossed back over it hit a Ford F150. Then it jerked back into the westbound lane, where it struck a Peterson dump truck head on.

The two people in the Saturn died: 25-year-old Austin Tyler Eckard and 20-year-old Heather Lee Williamson. The occupants of the other two cars were not injured.
