6-Year-Old Boy Dies Of Gunshot Wound After Unsupervised Children Find Handgun

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 6-year-old boy died of a gunshot wound Sunday evening after he and several other children found a handgun in a Moorhead apartment.

According to the Moorhead Police Department, the children were unsupervised when they found the gun inside an apartment on the 400 block of Sunrise Circle.

After the boy was shot, someone called 911 and officers responded.

The other children are all safe. The incident is being investigated.
