Firefighters Hurt By Falling Porch During Minneapolis House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Three firefighters were hurt Sunday evening when a porch partially collapsed on top of them during a house fire in south Minneapolis.

Fire officials say it happened at about 5:14 p.m. at a home on the 5500 block of 32nd Avenue South in the Wenonah neighborhood. Crews were battling the fire from the outside when part of the home's rear porch, along with part of the corner roof attached to it, fell onto the firefighters.

They were rescued and taken to HCMC, where they were treated for minor injuries.

The home is deemed a total loss, and two adults, two kids and two cats are now displaced. Officials say oxygen was used at the scene to treat one of the cats.

The fire is still under investigation.
