Koivu broke his right ankle Jan. 4 when he was hit by a puck and had surgery to accelerate the recovery. The captain and first-line center has resumed skating, but Wild coach Mike Yeo told reporters after practice Monday that Koivu's availability for the last two games before the Olympics break was "highly in doubt."

Twins Finalize Contracts With Pelfrey, SuzukiThe Minnesota Twins have signed right-hander Mike Pelfrey and catcher Kurt Suzuki. The contracts were finalized Monday. Pelfrey agreed more than a week ago to an $11 million, two-year deal. Suzuki agreed Friday to a $2.75 million, one-year deal. Pelfrey went 5-13 with a 5.19 ERA in 29 starts last season, his first after Tommy John ligament replacement surgery on his elbow. He'll return to the rotation with Kevin Correia, with Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes now at the top. One spot will be open in spring training.
Teen Accidentally Shot By Friend At St. Paul HomeA 16 year old is hospitalized after being shot in the abdomen by a 15-year-old friend, according to St. Paul Police. The shooting happened right before 7 p.m. at a home in the 900 block of West Nebraska Avenue. Police say the gun was accidentally discharged. The victim was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by the mother of the friend who fired the weapon.
