Although Fashion Week for Minnesota fashionistas takes place in the fall, events and shows can be found on the calendar year-round. From wedding apparel to seasonal style, fashion is a daily dilemma and enjoyment for many locals. Getting married sometime soon or just interested in the latest wedding trends? Check out the Minnesota Wedding Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center. There will be vendors from all over the state to help with wedding planning and fashion details. A fashion show is planned on an 80-foot runway with the trendiest bridal fashions and dresses for the entire wedding party. Plan on being there all day to sample cakes, champagne, music and fashion fun. An additional date is set in March if you need more time to explore.

The College of Design at the University of Minnesota presents an annual fashion show to showcase senior talent and cap off an education and training program for a future in fashion. Check out senior designs and possibly view the famous designers of tomorrow at this popular event. Critics and professors will be on hand to support the senior class and years of hard work will pay off in one night. Young talent and creativity is the theme of this event.

This cooperative event between the Minnesota History Museum and the Palestinian Heritage Museum pairs teens from Minnesota with teens from Palestine. The young people study both American and Palestinian design, then create their own clothing line based on what they've learned. The project will feature two runway shows, one in Palestine and one in St. Paul at the Heritage Center. The Minnesota show will be held in May at the Minnesota History Center, but watch the Design Diaries International website for specifics on event date, time and location.
