MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A former payroll agent for Land O’ Lakes pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to embezzling more than $1 million from the company.
Cynthia Carol Jacobsen, 58, of Brooklyn Park, pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud.
Jacobsen, who was charged on June 19, admitted in her plea agreement that from 2008 through May 15, 2012, she fraudulently entered her daugther’s name into the company’s payment system as a vendor and authorized 489 payments to her.
During that time, Jacobsen was an accounts payable supervisor for Land O’ Lakes and oversaw payments to venders for services rendered.
The illegal payments were sent by mail to Jacobsen’s residence.
