MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Every Thursday and Friday til the end of February, we’re going to your favorite frozen lakes.

On Friday, Frank Vascellaro and Chris Shaffer were back on Leech Lake, enjoying what they helped kick off the day before: The Eelpout Festival.

The event takes place in Walker, Minn., where the population swells tenfold as the “eelpouters” arrive.

The massive party celebrates the weird-looking eelpout fish, and loads of fisherman bring their ice houses onto the lake.
