NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (WCCO) – On Thursday, Jason DeRusha and Jamie Yuccas headed east to New Richmond, Wis. where they visited the Heritage Center, went kayaking on the Apple River, explored Willow River State Park, enjoyed the 45th Parallel Distillery and visited Star Prairie Trout Farm.

It’s all part of the Goin’ To The Lake: All Summer Long event. Each week, familiar ‘CCO faces are going out to the lake until the start of the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

On Friday, Jason and Jamie continued their trip with a tour of Bass Lake.

WCCO viewer Tim invited the two out on his boat for a tour and some tubing, and of course they couldn’t say no!

After drying off, Jason and Jamie headed out to another viewer’s farm to learn more about the farming industry.

Farming is a large part of New Richmond’s industry, so they decided they better learn a thing or two about it.

Pam and Chip invited Jason and Jamie to help out with the chores.

New Richmond is celebrating “Fun Fest” this week. Jamie tried something called a “Wiggle Bridge,” which is essentially a floating bridge that you’re supposed to walk over the water on – but the idea is not to fall!

There is one thing that Jason and Jamie had to do before they left Wisconsin – visit a cheese shop.

So when the owners of the Bass Lake Cheese Shop threw out a challenge, the duo happily accepted.

On Thursday, Jamie and Jason got to take a ride in a float plane, and they even let Jamie play the role of pilot!
