Goin' To The Lake: Frank & Maxie Visit Watson Hunting Camp (Day 2)

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Friday brought gorgeous summer weather, and Frank Vascellaro and Mike Max enjoyed it by going to the lake.

They spent the day in Watson, Minn., which is about 135 miles west of the Twin Cities. Not too many folks live out there, but the area is a mecca for hunters.

On Thursday, the guys explored the goose hunting grounds in Lac qui Parle Wildlife refuge, and went bow fishing on Lac qui Parle Lake. WCCO-TV reporter John Lauritsen also stopped by to show Frank and Maxie around the Lauritsen Family Farm.

On Friday, Frank and Maxie stopped by the Chippewa County Fair in Montevideo, which is about 10 miles from Watson.

The guys also stopped for ice cream at Art's Dairy Freeze.

Watson is known for having great hunting grounds, and popular pastime in the area is skeet shooting. That's where people shoot clay pigeons with shotguns.

As such, Frank and Maxie just had to give it a shot.

Thanks to the guys at Watson Hunting Camp and High Prairie Sporting Clays for letting those two take aim.

The guys couldn't pass through Watson without getting something to eat. One place they stopped at was the Goose Bar.

This time of year, numerous county fairs are in full-swing around Minnesota.

While at the one in Chippewa County, Frank and Maxie got to explore. The two went head-to-head in a basketball shootout, road a merry-go-round, and delved into a haunted house.

And Frank...is not a fan of haunted houses.
