MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 26-year-old Minneapolis man has pleaded guilty to murdering a man last December at the light rail station at Lake and Hiawatha.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday that Anthony Bowker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Gerald Davis.
In court, Bowker admitted to intending to kill Davis on Dec. 6, 2014, when he stabbed him repeatedly in the chest and neck.

County Attorney Mike Freeman said Bowker is expected to receive a 25 years in prison when he’s sentenced on Nov. 9.

According to officials, Bowker said in court that he has a history of mental illness. He also admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and drugs on the night of the stabbing.

He told the court he attacked Davis because of something the 58-year-old said to his family members.
