ATF: Reward Offered For Info On Melrose Church Arson

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A reward is being offered for information about an arson that caused millions of dollars in damage to a historic Melrose church in March.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced Friday that a reward of up to $7,500 will go to whoever helps them catch the culprit or culprits who started the fire at the Church of St. Mary on March 11.

The church, which was built in the 1890s, provided the only Spanish-language mass in town.

The State Fire Marshal ruled the fire "incendiary," causing about $5 million in damage to the church's west side.

Anyone with information can anonymously call 888-ATF-FIRE (888-283-3473), or the Minnesota Arson Hotline at 800-723-2020.
