HAYWARD, Wis. (WCCO) — Finally, a sunny day for Chris and Frank who are in Hayward, Wisconsin today. It’s Day Four of our tour of lake country and the guys are actually out on a lake.
Frank and Chris enjoyed some rays on Round Lake at the Grand Pines Resort, about two-and-a-half hours northeast of the Twin Cities over in Packers country.
It’s a beautiful area, known for its heavy concentration of lakes and great fishing. The locals call it the home of muskie records, because four have been pulled out of area lakes.
One of Hayward’s biggest events is the Musky Festival, which starts Thursday. The queen will be crowned Thursday night, there’s a concert on Friday and the fishing hall of fame induction on Saturday. Plus a 5K run and parade to finish off the weekend on Sunday.
